McDonald's Racing with Bouillon-Voets-Tavernier-Cox in the ex-Le Mans Porsche McDonald's Racing Team will once again be at the start of the 24 Hours of Zolder. Drivers on duty apart from François Bouillon and Jean Claude Voets are Stefaan Tavernier and Niels Cox. For the team, since last year under the wings of the experienced Fred Gronitz, it is their seventh participation. McDonald's Racing is synonymous with Porsche and this applies this year also. "For this endurance race we are calling on the services of the Porsche 996 GT3 RS in which Rudi Penders competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans a few years back. The car is truly the tops and with the highly experienced Fred Gonitz at the helm of the technical team it should be possible to achieve a respectable result", François Bouillon commented.
"These last few years we haven't had much luck in the 24 Hours of Zolder, but hopefully the tide will be turning this time around. It isn't easy to set objectives, but finishing must always be a target in a 24 hours race. If you cross the finish line it automatically brings a decent ranking along with it ", Bouillon continued."My team-mates have gained a fair amount of experience in the motorsport world, and that must surely be to our advantage. Niels Cox will be competing in his first 24 hours race, but he has proven his worth at the wheel of a Porsche in the Dunlop SportMaxx Endurance Cup. We let him test our car, and Niels immediately left a first-rate impression.. I can hardly wait for the start of the first free training sessions!"
