Voices from the pitlane before the free practice (part I)

Ostend Racing - BMW M3 GTEric Qvick - Ostend Racing: "The car is more or less standard, so where sitting pretty when it comes to reliability. We've hardly altered anything on the gearbox or engine. We have however fitted a more aggressive camshaft. Let's hope the weather cools down on Saturday and Sunday. In the car we reach temperatures of 65 degrees. Seeing we have a low fuel consumption we reckon on doing stints of roughly two hours, but under intense heat it becomes pretty strenuous."

Ron Marchal - AD Sport: "The key to success is regularity. Avoid as much as possible standing still in the pitlane is also important. We have agreed on our norm times, which we will adhere to until 10.00hrs on Sunday morning. Should we then be in a winning position, we'll then take some risks. The intention is to lap at a constant 1:40. There are obviously a few other factors you need to take into consideration. Conditions on the track, the weather, the driver in the car, the cars all around you... but if everyone keeps a cool head, we should finish high up. We're also well off regarding our autonomy. The team fitted a small clamping plate, whereby we lose roughly 100 bhp. We will be fitting the sequential gearbox for the qualifying sessions in order to play along for pole position, but for the actual race we're putting our trust in the faithful H-box. "

Dries Heyman - Recy Racing Team: "A new adventure! Someone confided to me: if you can race a Porsche, the a BMW becomes Childs play. Can't wait for the lights to turn green!"

Jo Jamers - Team manager First Motorsport: "The problem that the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup S had in the past will be out of the way. We're coming here to race, as I mentioned earlier! We're out to make the race, but should the other cars want to take the lead, we'll see which way the wind blows. The car is perfect, in fact nothing can break. The drivers obviously mustn't go wild, but drive according to the team's strategy."
