Review of the 24u.be crew on the 24 Hours of Zolder... and a preview on the future!

The 31st edition of the 24 Hours of Zolder has come to an end, 24 hours of tension and effort, and the wear and tear on man and machine has found its winner. We congratulate ProSpeed Competition with their victory but we have admiration and respect for all the competitors who added a touch of colour to the race during this last weekend.

This edition of the 24Hours started off under difficult conditions as the result of the ups and downs regarding the transfer of the promotion. Notwithstanding the late start of the campaign all parties involved ensured that the event took place, and organised on as broad a platform as ever possible. From our side we wish Speedworld Promotions every success for the coming season, whilst all together we continue to build on the revival of this event.

Neither must we forget SRO Belgium. Notwithstanding everything, SRO also tried to keep motorsport central and to ensure a championship of a qualitative high standard. The intention was not entirely successful and brought about a fair amount of food for discussion, but it finally indirectly created the foundation for a broad collaboration within the motorsport world in Belgium. The collaboration between Flanders and Wallonia, via two major promoters is something which was previously pretty unthinkable. As such every setback also brings new opportunities with it.

Regarding our efforts I wish to thank all the collaborators of the vzw 24u.be. During this week everyone has once again worked with great enthusiasm, input and little sleep to ensure that we were able to provide the more than 60.000 visitors to the website with information and photos.

For 2010 we can now already promise further development of our website, so that you will be even better informed. Something new already is that www.24u.be as from now will no longer be actively worked on in the run-up and the period around the 24 Hours, but thanks to close collaboration with Speedworld Promotions, with vzw 24u.be you will be informed 365 days per year about everything going on concerning the 24 Hours of Zolder. We will be bringing you all the promotions, advertisements, nibbles of information and news faster and in more depth.

www.24u.be will also become the access platform for the drivers and teams. Not only the general public but the competitors will receive more and broader information via our channels. Regulations, entry formalities and so forth will be managed centrally and made available via the website. More news on this matter will follow in due course!
