First and second racing hour: SRT Corvette leading firmlyRace facts are reported LIVE under the ‘Live news’ item in the left navigation. Sadly it’s only available in Dutch. For those not reading Dutch, here’s some major facts.
It was Marc Goossens firmly taking the lead from pole position, followed by Jos Menten in the PSI Porsche #4. No major track incidents in the early laps, yet major trouble for the Kuismanen Viper #2 – coming in for a complete electrical rewiring, later on ignition troubles and a ultimately a right suspension replacement.
Over 1h20 into the race the first frontrunners are coming in for fuel. Their first stint was somewhat stretched after a safety car period, caused by a massive oil spill on the track. Both PSI Porsches come in, followed by the GLPK Viper. Goossens manages to put no less than 50 laps on the Corvette before refuelling, while taking a comfortable 1 lap lead over the GLPK Viper. In GTB the Penders Porsche is doing great, climbing to second overall by staying out longer.
After 2 hours:
#7 Goossens SRT Corvette C5-R 66 Laps
#31 Penders Porsche GT3-RS +1:09
#1 Kumpen GLPK Viper + 1 Lap
#5 Mollekens PSI Porsche GT2-R
#4 Loix PSI Porsche GT3-RSR
#3 Verbist RS Porsche 996 Biturbo + 2 Laps
