GT Division : standings before the Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder

In the GT Division the first place is taken by the Viper GTS-R of Kuismanen and Vosse. These gentlemen also share the top of the Drivers Challenge (ref. previous announcement). It 's Rudy Penders and Franz Lamot earning second place in the GT Division with their Porsche, credits to their regularity and reliability. Penders as well as Lamot have a lot of experience in endurance racing and will be aiming for a top position in the overall GT Championship during the Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder.

Marc Goossens and David Hart will be aiming for the top spot with their Corvette C5-R, being in third position at this time. Guy Verheyen will be happy to assist them in doing so.

'Flying Finn' Markus Palttala and his team mate Leo Van Sande are in fourth position after four races. The PSI duo shares fourth place with the Ultima GTR driven by Eric Qvick and Christophe Geoffroy. Qvick's splendid position in this year's ranking confirms his knowledge and proves that he is capable of really developing a racing car. Last year was for learning, this year they've been tasting champagne almost every race.

Menten/Bouvy, Wauters/Wauters and the RS trio Maes/Tanghe/Verbist are familiar names among the top ten of the GT Division. The Marcos of Noorman/Van Dongen shows a very nice eigth ranking in spite of a bad result during the Spa Euro Race. The Porsche of De Sterck/Van Rompuy nicely occupies 10th place even after the bad luck they had during the LMES 1000 km.

But the bad luck champions are the Thiers brothers. During the New Race Festival they had to leave Zolder with a blank score. The two race weekends at Spa went very well for them. Still more bad luck was waiting at Brands Hatch. However their past results at Zolder let us expect the best for Frank, Kurt and Hans. In 2003 and 2004 they finished fourth in the overall ranking and winners in GTB. Kurt has won this race in 1991 and obtained a lot of honour rankings.
