NGT Racing looking out with confidence to Zolder's 24 Hours

NGT Racing - Porsche 996 GT3 Cup N-GT Racing will see it's second participation at the Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder. The recently founded and Grimbergen, Belgium based team will be working overtime to prepare it's Porsche GT3 Supercup for competing in the Class 3 division. "The motor, gear box and suspension will get a complete revision before heading off to Zolder", team owner Marc Maton tells us. "We will not be applying any other changes to the car. Yet we're still looking for ways to get the in-car temperature down, to make things more comfortable for the drivers."

Last year Marc Maton did well with a 11th overall finish, along with team mates Heinz Bonnaerens, Ward Sluys and Rigo Meys. "My best memory to the Zolder 24 Hours is definately last year's 11th place. For this year the line-up is not yet complete. If everything goes well according to plan we might be hoping for a top ten finish, and maybe a class podium", Maton says.

NGT Racing - Porsche 996 GT3 CupKudos from Maton go to the Mediagroep Van Dijck Belcar Original organisers: "The more rigorous technical inspections have definately proven to be a good decision. Especially in Class 3 we're seeing the result we all hoped for. Still it's not easy to explain to our sponsors why two cars are lapping the rest of the field in no time... Yet I truly respect those people raising the budgets to show these great cars to the Belcar crowd. The Midsummer Race wasn't exactly our favorite one, though we can only respect the problems around noise reduction guidelines. We're content with the current format. Still we would like to see the race weekend condensed into three days instead of four. For any team that's thriving by the enthusiasm of a group of motorsports lovers, this would save quite some holiday credits for it's volunteer personnel."

There's no lack of ambition at N-GT Racing... and probably it's entirely justified after it's strong Belcar Holiday Race finish. Marc Maton and Stef Vankampenhoudt took a Class 3 pole on Saturday and a class victory on Sunday. It's an exquisite result for N-GT Racing, that's looking out with confidence to the 28th edition of the 24 Hours of Zolder!
