Rudolph Racing going for a Class 2 podium For the Rudolph Racing Team of Edward and Roger Grouwels this will be their very first 24 Hours of Zolder entry. The Grouwels brothers however have already taken part in some other editions. In 2003 Edward Grouwels took the wheel of a Renault Clio entered by US Carworld. Two years ago the Dutchman went with Brother Racing. Roger Grouwels took part in three previous editions, his best result being a second in class in 2005. In 2006 Rudolph Racing will go looking after a Class 2 podium with a Dodge Viper Competition Coupé.
"To adapt the car for endurance racing, we decided to cut back on the engine performance. The Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder is renowned as a wearing battle for the cars. Just like most teams' primary target, ours is to finish the race! Of course we're hoping for a good result. We know the car is very reliable. A class podium finish should therefor be possible, also given the results in previous races. Up to now we've already scored three Belcar podiums", a happy Edward Grouwels tells us.
"This will be our first year as Rudolph Racing", he continues. "We're even impressed by our own performance in the past few races. Some refer to us as the underdogs, yet it doesn't matter to us. We'll be trying to be continually collecting championship scoring points. Right now we're third in class 2 and eight in the overall championship."
Rudolph Racing is still looking for pilots for the Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder. Interested drivers can get in touch with Edward Grouwels (0031653461830) or Patrick van Doorn (0031648319993).
