Electronics issues troubling Daikin test day During the ‘International training day’ at the Zolder track Daikin Racing did a brief roll-out of it’s new BMW 120d. The team called on Marc Hennerici to find the right set-up. The highly experienced German was putting on 1:41,2 after only a few laps. According to the team management the car should have a potential for running around 1:38. After some five laps Caroline Grifnée took the steering wheel. The Walloon lady was feeling great aboard the maiden white BMW. Lastly Alexandra Van de Velde got a chance to drive, yet she didn’t get far. An electronics related problem was keeping the team fron any more afternoon action.
“I got to be the last one to test because I need the drivers’ seat to be adjusted”, Alexandra Van de Velde tells us. “Sadly our test day was spoiled by a powerfeed problem. I only did one anda half laps. That’s not much for an experience, yet we did some 25 laps altogether. That’s enough to give us quite some confidence. We have planned some more testing. So we’re trying hard to be well prepared for this Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder edition.”
