Circuit Zolder: august 17, International training day

While the rest of Belgium was almost drowning, the Limburg region was on the dry side again. OK, we saw a few rain drops, yet the sunshine was really comfy.

"Crash boom bang"

BMW 130iSadly, and just before closing time disaster struck twice. Around 11h30 the radio was reporting a heavy crash above the tunnel (post 14). The beautiful Jaguar Silhouette (#5) of Motorsport International had crashed from an almost dry track into the right side tire wall. It looks like a tactical mistake from the team to me. Putting an inexperienced pilot into the Super Cat on a wet track three weeks before a major BTCS race (Truck Race weekend) means calling for trouble. The pilot only bruised his ego, yet Motorsport International will probably be calling Snobeck Motorsport for a new chassis. The second time it was calamity time in the refurbished chicane (post 8). A BMW 130i from the Benq-Siemens Cup went straight on and lifting the right side armco quite a bit. Conventional intervention tactics didn’t do so the trailer was working overtime.

Forgot someone? Sorry for that.

Vroooaaw !! See you in four weeks time.
