Nico Verdonck on board at S&P RacingFormer Formula 3000 pilot Nico Verdonck will be starting in next week’s Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder. For the youngster it will be his second entry in the renowned 24 Hours race. Paul Grutman, Wim Meulders and Steve Metior will be this year’s team mates for Verdonck, on a S&P Racing 996 Biturbo Porsche. Last year he was at the wheel of the G&A Racing BMW Z3, sharing with Wim Lumbeeck, Philip Daelemens and Joel Schuybroeck.
The team has been working hard to prepare the car for the Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder. Engine, gear box and brakes have been replaced. Also the team did invest a lot of time in solving a cooling issue. The system has now been completely adapted adn the problem should be fixed. Due to a late delivery of some spare parts the team didn’t get the chance to do a shakedown, yet the team is quite confident for the race.
