Gearbox trouble putting back GLPK Around 5:30 a.m. GLPK is again stuck in the pitlane, after the previous gearbox trouble. The team decides to put the car in the box and replace the gearbox.
“We don’t want to jeopardise our hopes for a good finish, so we prefer losing some time now and repair things properly”, team manager Paul Kumpen explains. “We did lose the lead for now, yet we will be back on the track and chasing hard. We also did score maximum points for the championship at the 6 and 12 hour mark. So we have plenty of time for a good finish. We’re not too concerned, as the race is only halfway through. "
