The race is on cruise control...The race is somewhat on cruise control. The battle in the different classes will not be decided anymore on pure racing speed, but incidents could still influence the outcome of the 28th 24 hours of Zolder. At front, the SRT Corvette is leading with respectively 10 and 20 laps on the Marcos and the Green GLPK machine. "We continue with our double stint strategy till the end and only our own pace is important", tells a calm Patrick Selleslagh.
The Euser Marcos meanwhile suffers brake problems and important oil consumption. But the yellow and black V8 continues and might end runner-up of this race.
In class 2, the Prospeed crew loses another ten minutes, with another driveshaft problem. The Porsche is now fourth behind two BMW's – GS and KS – and battling for third with the amazing Mosler MT900 of Gino Kenis: "We didn't expect this and without our problem in the opening hour it still could have much better."
Fifth is the second BMW Silhouette of KS Motorsport. The Porsches are without any doubt struggling with their age.
In class 3, we're towards a duel between First Motorsport and NGT. Both cars are running strong in the top-10 and strategy will be decisive. Third is for GS for Speedlover, while this team also leads the guest class with Frank Hahn.
