Snippets from the pitlane during the last training opportunity in Zolder

We're now on the final straight, heading for the 24 Hours of Zolder. Some ten Belcar teams took advantage of the last training possibility at Zolder. During the morning session the following were actively busy: 3x BonGou-Speedlover, 2x GPR, NGT Racing, Russell Racing and A+ Racing. André van Hoof announced that probably only two BonGou-Speedlover cars would be at the start, a Porsche 997 GT3 Cup in Division 1, and a 996 Cup model in Division 2. NGT Racing concentrated on their brakes: "We spent most of the morning running in the brakes. Apart from that nothing special to report ", Marc Neyens commented.

Niels Lagrange completed his first few meters with the Dodge Viper Competition Coupé. The young Limburg driver soon got into the right rhythm: "A Viper is quite different... but the first test was positive. I soon found the right rhythm which we'll be sticking to during the 24 Hours of Zolder ", Lagrange remarked. In addition we also spotted Guido Werckx getting in at A+ Racing. There's a good chance that Werckx will be at the wheel of the A+ Viper, whilst Lagrange will join the Daikin-girls.

Garage Pino Racing brought the #55 and the #56 on to the track. Both cars sported a bumper in true 24 –hours style. GPR has done its homework. "It's obviously a long race, but we seem to have it in hand. The Porsches are highly reliable, just look at the outcome of the 24 Hours of Spa. Hopefully we can score well here and close the gap with the PK Corvette ", Maxime Dumarey told us. Bert Longin of PK Carsport riposted: "We won't be playing the part of favourites here in Zolder, but we do intend to clinch some important points. Kurt Mollekens will take the start and drive a double stint. David Hart will take over, and also complete a double stint. Then it will be back to Kurt, after which it will be time for the first points. "

The Russell Racing Porsche drivers hardly got in any driving time. An oil leak kept the car off the track. CEO Racing who had only arrived at the track in the afternoon also experienced a similar problem. Laudi Racing kept their car off the track. "We're still awaiting some parts. It means that we are missing some important hours... but we'll just have to catch up during the free practice and qualifying sessions. This will allow Patric Derdaele and Stefan Verhoeven to gain the necessary experience ", team boss Patrick De Rudder commented.
