2nd qualifying: Mollekens drives PK Corvette to second best timeDuring the second qualifying session PK Carsport came out with the best deal. Whilst almost half the competitors' field didn't or hardly came out on track, Kurt Mollekens drove the PK Corvette up to second place. This means that Mollekens has brought the Corvette up to a provisional front row place, next to François Duval.
"Conditions were similar to yesterday ", Mollekens remarked."But there was no reason to take any additional risks. We are now provisionally on the front row of the grid, and we'll see how it works out."
Weather conditions this morning were not ideal. A fresh breeze, highly damp conditions and a track which was hardly drying out. It was only after a good hour of driving that the ideal line was starting to bite. Weather forecast for the coming hours does not foresee any change. Maximum temperature between 16 and 20 degrees Celcius, with threatening rain clouds hovering above the circuit. VZW 24u.be - Gordon McKay on Thursday 6 September 2007 at 11:10. |
