McDonald's Porsche starting from back of the grid

The McDonald's Racing Team will be starting the race friom the back row of the grid tomorrow. The Porsche Biturbo driven by Bouillon, Kuus, Voets and Janssens experienced some engine problems during the first qualifying session on Wednesday evening. "The engine wasn't running at all smoothly. What with the poor weather conditions on the track and the problem with our engine we decided to stop. And in the meanwhile all drivers had driven the car..."

However after the qualifying session the team were told that not all drivers had completed the compulsory three laps: "The Clerk of the Course advised us that not everyone had driven the three laps. This resulted in us having to start from the back of the grid, irrespective of the lap times we might have clocked up in the other qualifying sessions. A minor strategic fault, resulting in having to move to the last row. "

Luc Gabriël decided to keep the car in the pit box: "Luc thought it was advisable to take car of the engine on Thursday. This will allow us to prepare ourselves for tomorrow's lengthy catch up race. Both frustrating and exciting at the same time! Menno Kuus will take the start, and he will be going all out that's for sure!"
