Voices from the pitlane - ten minutes before the start of the race (part II)Kenneth Heyer - GS Motorsport: "We are sticking to the team strategy, and that implies secure racing. A forecast will be difficult. A Porsche will probably win, I don't doubt that, but we also have a chance of a podium place. We raced well in the ADAC GT, omotting the problem during the qualifying sessions obviously. Let's hope that luck is on our side."
Paul Grutman - MSE: "The car is fully race prepared! A fantastic job done by the MSE mechanics. They replaced the clutch and the car is running perfectly. We're going to try our best to finish well, and even try to clinch a podium in our class."
Harry Steegmans - AD Sport: "Everything points to an exciting race. Our Biturbo has been thoroughly prepared, and if w can lap in the region of 1:40" we should systematically work our way through. The car is reliable and we don't need to go flat out to clock up fast laps. In our case we need to keep an eye on the Thiers gang."
Ruben Maes - GPR: "We had some bad luck yesterday during qualifying. At a crucial moment the wheel hub broke. Probably due to the wheel nut being badly fitted to the wheel. This caused the rim to slide off the hub, and I needed to park the car. We didn't experience any problems during the warm-up, and we're ready for a fun and exciting race."
Stephane Lemeret - Gravity Racing International: "I'll give you five favourites for the overall victory. Our car, both GPR Porsches, PK Carsport, and the ProSpeed car with met Duval, Loix, Fumal and Bouvy. One of these cars will be up on the podium tomorrow as the overall victor ... and that will probably be the one which has a problem free race. In Spa Gravity proved that the car is reliable. It's now up to us to prove this in Zolder also. Ok, the track is far more demanding for the cars, but we'll do our utmost."
Jo Jamers – Team boss First Motorsport: "During the warm-up car #50 came in with problems. We have managed to get the car ready for the race. At First we might be able to work miracles, but the time delay between the warm-up and the race was too short to get the car on to the grid. This is why we're starting from the pitlane."
Yves Lambert - Gravity Racing International: "We're also driving our own race. We have a good team and good car. I have full faith in it. We're fully ready for the race." VZW 24u.be - Gordon McKay on Saturday 8 September 2007 at 17:10. |
