Voices from the pitlane around midnight...Patrick Schreurs - AD Sport: "We have been driving double stints for quite some time. Harry was in the car just now and he's doing well. It's now a question of not overtaxing the car. Actually quite amusing... because sometimes it is difficult not to go faster than that time of 1:40", the time we have set ourselves as norm. I once clocked a 1:37,3', and Albert was not amused. Even he himself clocked up a 1:37"! We can laugh about it, but we're doing well. Eric and I will be driving in the night, and tomorrow it will be up to Albert and Harry again."
André van Hoof - Team manager BonGou-Speedlover: "Actually the race is unfolding somewhat in the way we had thought it would. The #8 Porsche is running well, and it might produce a few surprises. With the #164 we were less fortunate. Twice we experienced a broken servo hose.."
Fred Gönitz - Team manager PK Carsport: "Clinching full points after six hours is a godd reward, but due to a problem with the suspension we have lost some 18 laps. Nothing is lost as yet, lots can still happen. We should mention that as from the second hour we have been racing without third gear. Not really ideal but our drivers are professional enough to be able to handle it. Difficult gear changes, but we're holding out. "
Frederic Bouvy - ProSpeed Competition: "Attack! Attack! Attack! Attack! The clutch has been replaced, we have lost a few places, but we are sticking to our original strategy. What is that? Attack! Attack! Attack!"
Dominiek Paret - MSE: "During Paul's stint a wheel broke off. This resulted in Paul leaving the track and hitting the wall.. enough to damage a few vital components. Over and out..."
Laurent Vanmoerkerke - Laudi Racing: "Throughout the entire race we have been experiencing a series of minor problems. Fuses which blew, oil, brakes...but we are fighting back. You can't beat Murphy's Law. We're fighting on. "
Pino Sperlinga - Team manager GPR: "The start wasn't as planned in our strategy book, but now it looks as tough it starting to go our way. Marc is now racing up front and is presently in the lead. Let's just hope that everything stays like that.
Guillaume Dumarey - GPR: "No news is good news! Let's hope it stays like that. Second behind our team mates, we're sticking to our own rhythm. " VZW 24u.be - Gordon McKay on Sunday 9 September 2007 at 00:38. |
