H&M Racing: from Touring Cup to the Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder... The H&M Racing team has been a Belcar regular in the past few years. They already took part in the Zolder 24 Hours seven times now. This year they picked the Zolder Touring Cup over the Belcar championship. Yet for the Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder the squad lead by Marc Oppers will be joining once again. Ronald Vetters, Ronny De Vos, René Van der Made and Wim Meulders will be the drivers on this #8 Porsche 996 effort.
The H&M Porsche has proven last year to be in a perfect shape. The team has won the classic season closing Zolder 10 Hours (Race Promotion Night). In this year's Zolder Touring Cup they've already scored a win, a second and a third place. For the Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder they decided not to rely upon good fate. Instead they fitted an entirely new suspension, a brand new atmospheric 3.8L engine and an new gearbox.
The team's prime target, like so many other's, is to make it to the finish. At their previous seven attempts they've been successful five times already. "Given the fact we're a 'hobby' team our participation is more important than winning", Marc Oppers declares. "Yet making it to the finish is clearly our target. After seven rounds we're aware we might also need a bit of luck, as some accidents happen far too easily..."
