Jan Heylen and Guy Verheyen discovering the SRT Corvette C5-R The SRT team has been intensively preparing for the upcoming Euphony 24 Hours of Zolder. Both Guy Verheyen and Jan Heylen took advantage of the regular training days on Thursday to get a feel of the Zolder track and the Ambi Pur Corvette C5-R. Both drivers did well and managed to keep a strong pace without troubles.
“Even if I could only get a few free laps, I managed to get a consistent feel of the car. I put in some decent lap times on rather old tires”, says Jan Verheyen. “Especially the ease of driving this car, is amazing. The Corvette C5-R is running smoothly, the gear shift is lovely and the car allows to keep a strong pace for a very long time.”
“I couldn’t more agree with Jan”, Guy Verheyen confirms. “I’m not keeping up with the pace Jan or Marc will be showing. Yet I’m confident I wil be able to sustain the rhythm scheduled for me by the team.” SRT will be further preparing from it’s Merchtem-based workshop (near Brussels) to be fit for the Zolder classic at August 27-28.
