A+ Racing with high ambitions to the 24 Hours of Zolder These last few weeks A+ Racing has been doing its homework. The team, based in Lint, will be entering both its Dodge Viper Competition Coupé cars. Led by Frank Thuriaux - and also with the arrival of former F3000-driver Jeffrey van Hooydonk - A+ Racing has taken on a far more professional approach this past year. The hard work resulted in a first overall podium place in the first race of the 25 Hours VW Fun Cup... and Thuriaux's troops have every intention of producing a sequel.
"Wim Lumbeek and Tom Van de Plas have progressed enormously these last few races", Thuriaux commented. "At the beginning of the season a top-ten ranking was a great objective... however now we need to refine our ambitions. With Guido Werckx joining them - and a fourth driver still to be confirmed - we are aiming at a place in the top-six with the #7."
Jeffrey Van Hooydonk and Robert Dierick will be joined by Laurent Nef. In the past this Walloon diamond merchant competed with a Dodge Viper Competition Coupé, entered by Signa Motorsport in the 24 Hours of Spa. For Van Hooydonk-Dierick-Nef the bar has been raised: "A podium place is definitely on the books. Next week a strong fourth driver will be joining the trio. During the 25 Hours VW Fun Cup we had our first taste of champagne... and we're on the look out for more of the same!"
In the meanwhile both Vipers have been readied for the endurance race at Zolder. In final preparation for the 24 Hours of Zolder the first tests will take place on Thursday. At A+ Racing nothing is left to chance, the competition has been warned: "Last year AD Sport proved the Viper to be a powerful weapon. At that time they ended fourth overall, and third in Division 1. Our intention is to move up a place this time around!" the combative team manager Frank Thuriaux remarked.
