Tom Cloet with NGT coming to the 24 Hours of Zolder?Several weeks ago Tom Cloet decided to put an end to his collaboration with Tim Bergmeister. The Belgian-German duo were active in the FIA European GT3 championship in a Porsche 997 GT3 Cup S, but were unable to make any headway. According to Cloet the blame lies with Bergmeister: "I'm not going to beat about the bush and merely be entirely honest. My relationship with Tim is not ideal and the trust no longer exists. He intentionally creates smooth worn areas on the tyres, alters the balance of the brakes without warning me; I cannot go one like this. I obviously had a lengthy discussion with team manager Bernhard Mühlner, and I'll only carry on racing with another team mate. We'll now do everything in our power to get Maxime Soulet into the car, but this entirely depends on the decision of the FIA. They need to accept him in GT3."
In addition to his participation in the European GT3 championship, we will also have the pleasure of the young Belgian at the start of the 24 Hours of Zolder. It was in the middle of last month that Cloet announced that he would be at the wheel of the NGT Racing Porsche 997 GT3 Cup S. Together with Bart Couwberghs and Ruben Maes he will take on the gruelling endurance race. Up until now the team have not confirmed the participation of this former winner of the 24 Hours of Zolder.
