Ron Marchal switches to Belgium Racing for the Zolder endurance race

Ron Marchal, the likeable Limburg based driver, will be making the changeover to Belgium Racing for the Menzo 24 Hours of Zolder. Patric Derdaele's team, similarly from the Limburg region, will be leaving the Dodge Viper Competition Coupé in the workshop opting instead for the reliable Porsche 996 Biturbo straight out of the stables of Albert Vanierschot. During the previous decennium the Porsches of this Zolder tuner were regularly up for an overall podium place and this will be the target once more this year.

"In my opinion a GT3 car is not the correct battle weapon for such a gruelling race as the 24 Hours of Zolder", Marchal starts off.. "I experienced it myself last year with the Aston Martin of Racing For Belgium. This year I want to fight it out for an overall podium place and AD Sport proved that it was possible last year. I opted for the best package and found this at Belgium Racing in joint-venture with AD Sport."

"Together with Patric Derdaele, Albert Vanierschot and Kurt Dujardin we make up an experienced quartet which could well surprise one and all. As long as we can lap in the region of the reference time during the race we should be playing a role up front ", the driver from Zutendaal commented with a smile.
