Maxime Soulet brings GPR Pino Porsche on to provisional pole in 1:33,844

GPR Pino Racing - Porsche 911 GT3 Cup S (1)	In the first qualifying session Maxime Soulet had everything his own way. The presently 'sticker less' GPR Pino Racing Porsche was quite clearly the fastest car out of the pack; Soulet easily drove the Cup S to a lap time of 1:33,844, making him the fastest driver out of the entire field. GPR Pino Racing is therefore a major contender for victory in 2008 also.

For a fair time the provisional pole was in the hands of Vincent Radermecker (Gravity Racing International). 'Rader' went out early for a top time, prior to handing the wheel over to Anthony Kumpen. "All I needed to do was run in the brakes, Vincent's time will suffice ", he commented. Apart from Radermecker ,Van Hooydonk (A+ Racing), Fred Bouvy (Francorchamps Motors) and Vincent Vosse (Sport Garage) also went on tyrack early. Just before the start of the qualifying session a light drizzle appeared, and the various protagonists decided to play it safe.

A+ Racing - Dodge Viper Competition CoupéThe top five remained unchanged for quite a while; with up front the Gravity Racing International Mosler, ahead of the Francorchamps Ferrari, the A+ Viper #4, the Sport Garage Ferrari and the GPR Pino Racing Porsche. It was during the last hour of the session that things started moving. Jan Heylen (KRK Racing) set the ball rolling by pushing his way into the top-five. Maxime Soulet soon reacted, clocking up a cracking time.

First Motorsport - Porsche 997 GT3 CupQuite clearly this year Division 3 cars have the upper hand over the Division 2 competitors. In D3 First Motorsport is provisionally leading, with the quartet Lagrange-Nelissen Grade-Verbist-Leest. Verbist best lap time was under the 1:36", resulting in team manager Jo Jamers having to play his 'joker'. This means that Verbist can keep his time - and therefore his provisional pole also. Any following infringements will be penalised with an annulment of all lap times (qualifying or a drive-through (race). MPM Racing by Verbist also had an excellent session with Pulinx-Fumal-Palttala-Menten just finishing out of the top-ten overall.

First Motorsport - Porsche 996 GT3 CupFirst Motorsport on top, in Division 2 also. Father and son Van Rompuy, Wim Jeuris and Frank Beliën clocked up the twentieth best time overall, resulting in pole in D2. In D4 Vanbellingen-Vandermaesen-Redant-De Crem are up front with the KS Motorsport. Ginetta G50R #321

The qualifying session needed to be neutralised twice. The first time was the result of the KRK Racing Dodge Viper being at a standstill at the exit of the pitlane - and the red flag being waved. Later a 'Code 60' appeared due to a small crash of the Ferrari F430 GT3 of Scuderia Monza. Guy van Mol skidded backwards into the tyre wall, but luckily without too much damage.
