Soulet retains provisional pole notwithstanding serious opposition from Viper and Ferrari Several teams took full advantage of the cooler weather conditions this morning. Amongst others KRK Racing, Francorchamps Motors, A+ Racing showed their true colour this morning. GPR Pino Racing sent Maxime Soulet out on to the track several times, mainly to counter any opposition should any of the other teams improve on Soulet's lap time set up last night. Jan Heylen in the KRK Viper pulled out all the stops to break through Soulet's time, but the 'Belgijan' failed clinching the provisional pole time by a tenth.
Fred Bouvy in the Francorchamps Motors Ferrari was half a second down, as was Jeffrey Van Hooydonk with the A+ aRacing Viper. The drivers will have an opportunity to break through the pole of GPR Pino Racing later this afternoon.
Gravity Racing International remained in the pit box this morning. The Mosler MT900 is being spared for the race, but Anthony Kumpen left no doubt about their intention "We're resolutely going for pole!". No doubt Kumpen, Radermecker and Longin will have a final attempt later today.
For the first time ProSpeed Competition has managed to get into the top-ten. Driver-journalist Stéphane Lémeret set the sixth best time, ahead of Henk Haane, in the JD Competition by Astromega Lamborghini. Sport Garage presently holds eighth place-... however the second qualifying session didn't run smoothly for the Christian Petit team. After fifteen minutes Vincent Vosse was obliged to park the Ferrari, and had to watch the remainder of the session from the sidelines. Scuderia Monza, back in the fold after a minor incident yesterday night, produced a ninth time. First Motorsport, leader in Division 3 with the Porsche 997 GT3 Cup, completes the top ten. Leader in D2 is the First Porsche 996 GT3 Cup #150. Vanbellingen-Vandermaesen-Redant-De Crem houden have the upper hand in D4
