Menzo 24 Hours of Zolder: reactions from the start grid

François Bouillon - McDonald's Racing Team: "Due to mechanical problems we didn't take part in the warm-up. When warming the engine we noticed hat one of the oil pumps had given up the ghost. As a preventative measure we replaced both pumps in order o b on the start grid in perfect condition. As we were unable to participate in the warm-up we were not able to run in the brakes. Hence we'll drive through the pitlane twice to clock up a few kilometres. "

Joost Vollebergh - JD by Astromega: "It' going to be a heated race, in which we intend to cover as many laps as possible. It's difficult to make any predictions, definitely not with this warm weather. Undoubtedly the heavy sun will prove to be hard on the equipment of our cars. We hope to finish on the podium with both the Lamborghini and the Porsche... but as I said earlier it will be a game of wait and see!"

Tim Verbergt - JD by Astromega: "This morning the car was handling somewhat better, but we're still far from having a comfortable set-up. It's quite a drudge to drive a 1:37" lap. The car lurches from side to side. Hopefully it will improve during the race."

Koen Wauters - KRK Racing: "This year we have no other choice than to opt for a conservative strategy. As compared to other years we only have one car entered... so we ned to handle the materials with great care. Otherwise we would have been able to send out one car with an attacking strategy, whilst the other one would take on a more demure drive..... unfortunately not possible this year. All four drivers will be in for double stints, hoping to finish as high as possible."
