Quirky clutch causes further problems for ProSpeed after 21 hours of racingDuring the night ProSpeed Competition spent 45 minutes sorting out a broken clutch. Repairs included replacing the clutch plates, without fitting an entirely new clutch. For four solid hours Lémeret and Loix gave it their all to slot themselves back into the to-three, and after 21 hours of racing the Porsche 997 GT3 Cup S was in second place with a safe margin on their nearest pursuers.
"Absolutely lousy! That clutch again ", Stéphane Lémeret groaned."Similar to this morning the clutch plates have been damaged. This is a progressive problem and all you can do is come into the pits. The team will now lose another 30 laps. We'll be pleased if we finish in the top-ten. Great pity. We had a healthy lead, but it wasn't to be."
"During my last two laps I felt the clutch was hesitating. By then it was too late. In the same manner as my NGT Racing colleagues I tried no longer to change gear.... but it was too late. You can't anticipate such a problem. It's incredibly unfortunate that we can't bring this race to a satisfactory ending ", the downtrodden driver-journalist commented.
