Sven Van Laere: "Koen has just come over to apologise for the incident. It's a regrettable accident but quite clearly a race fact. I was shown the blue flag in the Bianchi, however it wasn't being waved which normally indicates that a faster car is approaching but has not as yet put in an overtaking manoeuvre. So I took the normal line through the Bianchi. Koen was under great pressure to reduce the gap with the WRT Audi and decided to try an overtaking manoeuvre from far back. Koen hit the Porsche's rear end lightly, but I lost control and the car went sideways whereby the Mercedes hit our car a second time with more serious consequences. When you are fighting it out for overall victory you need to take far more risks. Apparently the damage to our Porsche is not too serious and we hope to finish the race without any further problems. "
